Starting first large job on a listed house in Crowthorne

Upsher Heating + Plumbing became incorporated

First large payment- Invoice 001 was paid for a boiler and cylinder installation

First card reader payment of £128.84 made on site with customer

First boiler quote won via a video on Facebook

Scott’s van was given a colourful lift with a van wrap from Zoo Signs

First employee - Scott appoints Jilly as a Bookkeeper

First field employee - Bryn is employed as a mature Apprentice

Upsher made it through the first year with a reasonable profit (Made it with the other 94% of businesses making it through the first year of trading)

Finalist for Britain’s Top Trades Person for the first time

Scott attends his first Networking event (BNI Hook High Flyers)

Introduced Service M8 into Upsher, our first CRM software (Previously using apple calendars for job bookings and paper pads for boiler certificates)

Covid warning – Prime Minister Boris Johnson made a televised statement saying "now is the time for everyone to stop non-essential contact"
26th March 2020
First Covid Lockdown is legally enforced - Scott had to remove all future work from everyone’s diaries and archive them in a dedicated online folder.
1st April 2020
First lockdown job - Due to our key worker status (Grey area), Scott attended a property in Hook with no incoming water supply. This message from the customer highlights the times we were in: “Hi Scott, Thank you very much for helping me out and I am pleased we are back online with our water supply. The engineer was very efficient and I am impressed with the quality of work and so I will use you again in normal times in the future.”

Moved from Freeagent to Xero for our accounting software (Due to Xero integrations with Service M8)

Scott welcomes back his staff from the first furlough but with strict rules on always wearing a mask.
14th September 2020
Macca is employed as an Apprentice after successful work experience with us in February 2020. He also gained the qualifications needed to start his Apprenticeship.

Second Covid lockdown is enforced, and Scott took the decision to furlough our staff again

Scott is happy to bring the staff back in to help look after our customers. With strict rules on wearing masks in the customers’ homes

Time to pick ourselves up and dust off the cobwebs after taking a hit on our personal mental health and reduced turnover for the business

F1 for Schools – We are platinum sponsors for a great initiative, where a handful of students at Robert Mays school design and create a model race car. They have competed against other teams around the country and now the world, as they reached the 2025 STEM racing World Final, in Singapore.
