Are you a landlord with a property (or properties) in Hampshire?
Staying on top of the heating and plumbing systems in a house you don’t live in is a challenge. Often it’s a job that falls to the bottom of the list when there are other tenant requests coming in thick and fast.
Until something goes wrong, that is…
Then come the calls, the waits and the growing complaints from disgruntled tenants until eventually, the bill.
In an ideal world you’d probably have someone you can rely on to fix any issue with heating or plumbing quickly and reliably. More importantly, they’d make it their job to keep an eye on your property’s plumbing throughout the year, so you don’t have to.
Having worked with landlords for many years, we’ve come to recognise the difficulties and frustrations you face. Off the back of that, we’ve made it our mission to go above and beyond and be the very engineers you dream of in your ‘ideal world’.
But first things first, that gas safety certificate.
Gas safety certificate
As you know, it’s a legal requirement for any rented property to renew its gas safety certificate every year. In many ways it’s the MOT of the buy-to-let world.
Before you do anything else, make sure the engineer who checks your system is Gas Safety Registered like we are, otherwise the certificate they produce won’t be worth the paper it’s printed on. They should also carry out a tightness test on your property’s pipework as a standard part of their checks. Ask to find out.
Luckily, here at Upsher we are not only Gas Safety Registered, but we take the time to put every part of your property’s heating and plumbing system through its paces as a matter of course when we visit for your annual check.
All year round support
Maybe you live far away from your property, perhaps you have a portfolio that leaves you feeling out of control, or maybe – like most of us – you just have too much on your plate to stay ‘in the know’ about every aspect of your property’s heating and plumbing needs.
We pride ourselves on getting to know every property we visit inside out, as if it were our own.
In doing so, we make ourselves far more helpful than simply being the engineer who signs off your Gas Safety Certificate once a year. Instead, we become your go-to guys should ever an issue arise, who know exactly what the problem will be and the best way to fix it.
More than that, if you book your property in for a service as part of your annual gas safety check, we’ll be in a position to maintain your system so it’s in top condition for the next 12 months (and beyond).
As you’ll see from the services listed here on the website, we carry out every kind of repair and installation; no job is too small. So you’ll never be left searching for a suitably qualified engineer should we flag up something that needs attention; we’ll happily do it ourselves!
Any work we recommend will always be explained clearly in a fully itemised quotation before you agree to anything.
Once we’ve got the job done, we’ll leave you with a plain speaking report explaining exactly what works we carried out and why, so you’re always ‘in the loop’ about where your property’s heating and plumbing systems are at.
“Scott diagnosed the problem and the fixed the fault promptly”
“We have used Scott and his team in the past and cannot recommend them enough. They are friendly, polite, tidy and take pride in their work.”
“Very pleased with the work done. Thorough and left clean and tidy”
“Excellent job, very happy.”
“Following on from the excellent work Scott did on installing our boiler last year where he went above and beyond to fix the mistakes the builders of my house had inflicted on me, he just serviced the boiler. He did this in a very timely fashion and explained what he was doing as he did it. His customer service as per normal was great. I have recommended Scott to friends.”
“I rate this tradesman very highly as can be seen from my scoring. Mr Clarke visited my home, quoted for the work we discussed and emailed a detailed breakdown to me whilst still at my home. Subsequently I requested additional work which was costed and emailed within 30 minutes of the request. The work was scheduled in approx 3 weeks hence, Mr Clarke arrived exactly on date and time. I am certainly impressed by the quality, care, cleanliness and attention to detail afforded to the work undertaken. Mr Clarke is a finalist in the countrywide tradesman of the year competition. I wish him every success.”
“Boiler and tap were easy. Our toilet is/was a bit of a nuisance to us all (I don't like the system anyway)! A corroded part was taken away to be matched and replaced - only to find there was another part of the flushing system that needed replacing. So poor Scott had to find another part and return. Very happy with the result. Have had Scott here before and always happy with his honesty and expertise - and ability to fix difficult things!”
