Our Approach

Having an engineer in your home can be a daunting prospect for the best of us. No matter how friendly they are, it doesn’t get over the fact you’re practically strangers! Not to mention the thought of dusty boots and loud noises overrunning the place… The thought of having to call out a tradesperson can become a headache all on its own. That’s why Bryn and I have gone the extra mile to make sure our approach puts your mind at ease:
Before we crack on with any work, we’ll make sure you’re in the loop.

If we’re there because something is broken, we’ll take the time to explain exactly what the problem is, how we plan to fix it and why we recommend a certain solution over any others.

If we’re there to install something new, we’ll make sure you know precisely how it will affect your day-to-day life before we get to work and fill you in on any alternatives worth considering, too.

We’ll provide a fully itemised quotation before we get down to work so you know exactly where the money is going.

Once we’re done, your invoice will include a plain-speaking explanation of the works carried out.

We take particular care when it comes to protecting your day-to-day life from disruption. You’ll know exactly when to expect us and who will be coming.

We’ll take our shoes off and lay out dust sheets from the doorstep all the way through to where we’ll be working, making sure your belongings are covered or safely out of the way before we do anything else.

If you ever end up without heating while we work, you won’t need to feel the cold! We bring fan heaters with us to make sure you stay comfortable.

At the end of any working day, we pack everything up and leave your home exactly as we found it (hoovering and all!) so you’ll not have to worry about the house being left like a bombsite. Yes, we’ve heard the horror stories!

Upsher’s trusty mascot, Zola, is the first to greet Scott after a busy day at work and you’ll often see the two of them walking around Hook together.

She may even join Scott and Bryn as they carry out your work (but only if you don’t mind!).

Jade is the bright spark (excuse the pun) when it comes to all things marketing at Upsher.

Besides producing our videos, she’s the brains behind our social media, keeping you informed about all latest developments set to affect you from the heating and plumbing world.

Bryn’s an outstanding apprentice and friendly soul who takes great pride in his work. He is excelling both on the job and in his studies at Basingstoke College of Technology.

When Bryn isn’t tending to your faulty boiler or installing that swish new boiling water tap, he enjoys time spent with his young daughter and wife. Watch this space for the next go-to engineer in Hook!

Jill is the glue that holds everything together at Upsher; Bryn and myself rely on her infallible organisational skills to manage our diaries week on week.

By handling the admin side of the business, Jill allows us to crack on with what we do best: responding to your heating and plumbing needs quickly and thoroughly. Her’s is the warm voice that will give you every confidence in our service.

Jill’s years of experience as a secretary means she’s an asset (and friend) we certainly wouldn’t be without.
